Samoa Language Week is 24th May 2015
Did you know…?Samoan is the third most spoken language in New Zealand, with 144,000 people identified as Samoan. It is also the second most spoken language in Auckland.
The Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs theme this year is “Tautua nei mo sou manuia a taeao” – “Serve now for a better tomorrow”.
Here's a few Samoan phrases to have a go at saying:-Good morning – Manuia le Taeao
Have a great day – Ia manuia le aso
Have a great week – Ia manuia le vaiaso
Have a great evening – Ia manuia le afiafi
Take good care of your health – Vaai fa’alelei lou soifua
I always loved the samoan song "Savalivali'" and have used phrases from the song in my teaching especially :"tau tala tala" which means 'too much talk'
